

Coach Shackelford
Varsity Girls Coach

Coach Shackelford has been at Roswell High School since 1999 and currently teaches 11th American Lit Honors and Talented & Gifted classes. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from The University of Georgia where he played intramural tennis. He was also a member of The River Club at Martin’s Landing Swim & Tennis Club for several years and has played ALTA sporadically.

Coach Shackelford has been the Head of the RHS Tennis program since 2008 and is the Region 7-AAAAA Varsity tennis coordinator. He has been the Girls Varsity coach for over 18 years, and previously was the Boys JV coach for three years and the Boys Varsity Coach for two years. In addition, he has been the JV Division Coordinator & Tournament Director for over 33 high school JV programs in the North Atlanta area for over 18 years, is a USTA Certified Referee, and runs Tournaments out of the Roswell Recreation Park.
The Girls Varsity team has been to the Final Four of State back-to-back for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Coach Shackelford was also the State Coach of the Year for the 2012 Girls Varsity State Champions.

Coach Bryan
Varsity Boys Coach

Originally a native of Phenix City, Alabama, Coach Bryan has been teaching English for more than 23 years and has been at Roswell High School for almost 10 years. Previously, he taught at Newton High School in Covington, GA, where he also served as Boys and Girls Varsity head tennis coach for 7 years. During this time, he navigated his squads to 5 GHSA state playoff appearances, and his teams finished 2nd in Region 7A in 2014 and 2015.

Coach Bryan attended college at Mercer University in Macon, GA, where he double majored in Political Science and English. While at Mercer, he played on the Men's Varsity tennis team from 1992-94. He attended graduate school at The University of Georgia, where he earned his M.Ed. and Ed.S. degrees in Secondary English Education.
Coach Brya​n has been coaching tennis at Roswell High School for over 8 years. He has coached Boys Varsity for several years now, and previously served as Boys and Girls Varsity assistant coach and Girls JV coach.

​Coach Bryan is married to Lindsey Davis-Bryan, an ESOL teacher at RHS. They are the proud parents of Spencer, a three-year-old. In his spare time, Coach Bryan enjoys playing USTA and ALTA tennis.

Coach Majors
Junior Varsity Girls Coach

Coach Majors is in her 7th year of teaching and coaching at Roswell High School. She attended Auburn University where she majored in Zoology and minored in Math. She currently teaches Algebra 1 and Algebra 2.
​
Coach Majors has been playing tennis for over 20 years. She has played on numerous USTA and ALTA teams in Atlanta. She has two daughters, Dani and Haley, who both graduated from RHS. Her daughter, Haley played tennis on Roswell’s JV and Varsity teams.
Coach Martin
Junior Varsity Boys Coach
This is Coach Martin's second year at Roswell High School where she teaches 10th grade in the ELA department, and she is in her 19th year of teaching. Coach Martin grew up in Oak Ridge, TN and completed her degree in teaching at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She played tennis for Austin Peay University for a couple of years, during which time her team won their division.

Coach Martin is excited to be joining the RHS Tennis program; this will be her first year as the Boys JV coach.
Coach Martin is married with three adult girls and a Goldendoodle, who drives her crazy! Her oldest daughter has given her two grandsons that she spends a great deal of time with on the weekends. Her middle daughter works as a Physician's Assistant in Rheumatology in Washington, D.C., and her youngest daughter works for Jackson & Coker in Alpharetta. She enjoys traveling, hiking, running a side business, and playing tennis (when she's not injured!).
